Dance

In dance, the medium of expression is movement and the instrument is the human body.  The Arts Huron program not only offers students instruction in all forms of dance such as Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Ballet, World Dance Forms and Musical Theatre, but also affords students the opportunity to choreograph and to perform their own collaborative creations in both of our annual showcases.  Moreover, Dance at Huron focuses on wellness and the nurturing of healthy bodies through education in nutrition, injury prevention and kinesiology.

Four tiles show students dancing in different styles. Word dance reads down the side.

Your holistic dance experience will be enriched through engaging field trips, prestigious guest artists and invaluable and diverse performing opportunities.  Your intensive study of dance in the Arts Huron program will not only develop your dance technique but will also educate you in the science of movement, the elements of composition, the historical and cultural significance of the art form, and the contribution dance can make to your lifelong physical and emotional well-being.  Ultimately, the Arts Huron Dance program will help you discover the true artist that lies within.
